On the surface, Sheila Armstrong’s debut novel, Falling Animals (2023), revolves around the mystery concerning a dead man. It has been praised for the way in which it employs multiperspectivity. Each chapter is told from the perspective of a character who crossed paths with the man on the last day of his life. The collection of vignettes shifts the reader's attention from the dead man to the lives and regrets of those who encountered him.
Sheila Armstrong's work has been translated into multiple languages and has been nominated for a number of prizes, including the Irish Book Awards."
