Week 8: Louise O'Neill

Louise O’Neill is known for her fearless writing on gender, power, and consent. Her novel Asking for It sparked important conversations about rape culture and victim-blaming. It became a bestseller and was adapted for the stage. The title is particularly significant because it reflects the harmful attitudes towards sexual assault survivors, challenging the notion that victims are responsible for their own attacks. O’Neill has received numerous awards for her work, cementing her place as one of Ireland’s most influential contemporary authors.

The lucky winners are: Lea Köllejan, Eleonora Drobnig, Anja Kroker, and Annika Runte.
