Week 10: Louise Kennedy

Louise Kennedy grew up in Northern Ireland during the Troubles, an experience that deeply shapes her writing. Trespasses, her debut novel, tells the story of a forbidden love affair set against the backdrop of sectarian violence. Cushla, a young Catholic teacher, becomes romantically involved with Michael Agnew, an older Protestant barrister. Praised for its emotional depth and historical insight, the novel was shortlisted for multiple literary prizes and established Kennedy as a powerful new voice in Irish fiction.
The lucky winners are: Victoria Schiavoni, Aylin Marie Lubos, Helen Sucic, and Melissa Celine Tang.
